- The parish church of St Mary the Virgin has a Norman doorway on the west front of the embattled tower, the rest is largely from the 13th and 14th centuries, restored by Bodley and Garner in 1873-4. It has stained glass windows by Burlison and Grylls. A full description of the church is available on the Southwell & Nottingham Church History Project website
- The Old Rectory is late 18th/early 19th century; the garden front has four Ionic pilasters supporting the central pediment
- The classical-style school dates from 1840
- The Griffin Inn was built in the mid-19th century
- The Burnside Memorial hall was opened in 1921
- The Telephone Exchange was built in 1958
- The Griffin Inn dates from 1843 and replaced an earlier inn called The Plough
Numerous farms in the village still exist although they have now been changed to become residential housing.
Landscape
Mound near to the railway line where the mill used to be situated.
Prominent bank and ditch along the north-west boundary of the village, possibly of medieval origin.
